This is the answer number 2 from group 1 (Radhiyatul Jamilah, Anugerah Amir Anggeraja, Arizandi, Nurkhairat Amaliah)
2. In our group’s opinion it will be better to use mixed method of research then qualitative or quantitative. Because as we know that mixed method research is a research that mixing qualitative and quantitative research and of course it has some advantages. a. Mixing methods of data collection aids validity. b. Mixed method research give more comprehensive fact in researching the problem of research. Because the researchers have the freedom to use all the tools for collecting data in accordance with the type of data needed while quantitative or qualitative limited to the types of certain data collection tool. c. Mixed method research is "practically" because researchers have the flexibility to use which one of methods to examine the problem.
Thanks for the first group, i think this is good explanation!! But you say that mixed method research has some advantages, could you explain more the advantage of this research. Thank you😊
Oh it looks like I get misunderstood, i think part A and B is a part of the explanation this method, not the advantages, because there is no clear sign that it is the explanation for the advantages of the method, but now i get the point, thanks😊

Addition The use of mixed method research provides a number of advantages, namely:

Thanks for nice explanation buddies. Well, Honestly I am still confused about how to distinguish between qualitative and quantitative research. I mean, Mind If I ask you to give an example for each research ?? For example if I want to know about what factors that makes students lazy to read, is it qualitative or quantitative ?
well, buddies that a good question I will answer it based on some source that I've read about difference between them. quantitative research is used to quantify the problem by way of generating numerical data or data that can be transformed into useable statistics and Quantitative data collection methods are much more structured than Qualitative data collection methods. Quantitative data collection methods include various forms of surveys – online surveys, paper surveys, mobile surveys and so on. while qualitative research is used to gain an understanding of underlying reasons, opinions, and motivations. It provides insights into the problem or helps to develop ideas or hypotheses for potential quantitative research. Qualitative Research is also used to uncover trends in thought and opinions, and dive deeper into the problem and Some common methods include focus groups (group discussions), individual interviews, and participation/observations. so, about your example "what factors that makes student lazy to read" I think it belonging to qualitative research because we want to know what the reasons that makes student lazy and it related to the lack of motivation in study. thanks ^^
First of all, I'd kindly say Nice job on differentiating both research. secondly, In your comment, you state that Miss Tut wuri Handayani's example belongs to the qualitative research. Is it possible to use the Mixed Method on this "question" (what factors that makes student lazy to read?) and in what condition is that Mixed Method should be used by researcher? thank you in advance.
thanks for the nice question brother. well, the researchers can use mixed method when they want to collect the data/information by using both of qualitative or quantitative method or when they want to collect the data by using open-ended and close-ended instrument. so, of course they will use mixed method because they want to combine qualitative and quantitative method/instrument in collecting the data.
Wow, Honestly I am done with my question and I am trongly satisfied but Knowing brother Darson needs further informatiob, I become interested in point open-ended and close-ended instrumen. Would You please just explain so that I can get early information about it. Thanks 😄

I got the point from your answer. But, can you tell me about the shortage of mixed method of research? Because I think it might not running well if we doing research and mix both of qualitative and quantitative. When we doing research and just focus on one method (qualitative only) we can take more advantages because we go deeply in just one side and didn't take a risk to much. What about your opinion? Thank you.
I mean "too much". When you doing mixed method on both qualitative and quantitative, I think you might get a hardness time to separate which one will be the best to get more spesific data. I think just one of them will give you more of all you need from your research. Thank you.
well, miss tut wury. close-ended use in quantitative means the information that we got has close or locked answer characteristic. for example the data from measurement of attitudes, behavior, or the measurement of other behavior instruments. open ended use in qualitative means open answer for example the data that we collect comes from interviewing the participants directly.
well, ms. nurul adiyah about the shortage you may see in mr.ibnu comment column, my friend has explained it before, and in my opinion it it is not too much. the opposite we will get the hardness when we just use one method, because we are limited of instrument that we want to use. why it makes us easier. you may check on ms. devy's comment column. thanks
Thank you ms. Jamilah, but all the explanation I need from your group. I want to know your opinion about that method. And about mr. Ibnu and ms. Devi, they have their objectives view too.
And as you say, you want to do research by mixed method to help you more. Do you think that mixed method is an effective way in doing research? You must be focus on two sides of research which make it more complicated. In my mind, when we are doing research and we go deeply in that research, we can get and find more important things and better than we need. When you guys focus in two methods, how can it be easier for you? You might dig the data just on the top, not even dig to the bottom because it will take more time. I need you or your group's opinion. Thank you.
because you ask about the shortage so, i ask you to look mr.ibnu comment. because i think you have the same question about the limitation/shortage. and i have explained it more in devi's comment about why mixed method makes us easier to do a research. it's bored to repeat the same statement twice. so, i think you must be read it more carefuly. and it belongs to my groups opinion but i use my account to give you an answer.
Name: Ibnu Hajar Class: PBI 1.2 Id: 20400114035 well, I will give you some question about this topic, as your group says that mixed research is a better way to do research and you talked about many benefits of mixed methods in your previous cooment and now can you please tell us about some limitations of this method as well. Thank you.
The use of mixed method research provides a number of advantages, namely:
Provides strengths that offset the weaknesses of both quantitative and qualitative research. For instance, quantitative research is weak in understanding the context or setting in which people behave, something that qualitative research makes up for. On the other hand, qualitative research is seen as deficient because of the potential for biased interpretations made by the researcher and the difficulty in generalizing findings to a large group. Helps to explain findings or how causal processes work. Disadvantages and limitations
Mixed method research has some disadvantages and limitations, namely:
The research design can be very complex. Takes much more time and resources to plan and implement this type of research. It may be difficult to plan and implement one method by drawing on the findings of another. It may be unclear how to resolve discrepancies that arise in the interpretation of the findings.
Well thanks for your explanation, but in your last explanation says that "It may be unclear how to resolve discrepancies that arise in the interpretation of the findings." then i'm lil' bit confuse by word "unclear" that you mention..well, why we use method if its may be unclear or can't give us a valid data?. hope you guys give some clarification about this. thanks a lot
well, Mr.Ibnu . in the sentence use a word "may be it's not must be" so the meaning of "unclear" . when the research is very complex it can be a problem for interpreting our findings because it may be unclear how to solve the discrepancies between the combining of qualitative and quantitative method.if you said that why we use this method if its may be unclear or can't give us a valid data? okay, you know we can use each method for getting a valid data but in our group's opinion this is a better research method not for getting a valid data but it is better because it make us easier to collect the data. validity is about the way when we collecting the data. although we use mixed method but we manipulated the data it is wrong and so another method.
Well, thank you for your comment Ms Mila..so based on your group, every method that we use in research has possibility to get "unclear" data but its depends on how we got the data.. and the way to collect data easier is using mixed method because it is more flexible. well, I think I can go with that. thank you.
Well, thank you for your comment Ms Mila..so based on your group, every method that we use in research has possibility to get "unclear" data but its depends on how we got the data.. and the way to collect data easier is using mixed method because it is more flexible. well, I think I can go with that. thank you.
Hartina PBI 2 20400114030 Thanks for te first group. Good explanation !!! Well, you said that mixed method is better to use in resarch than qualitative or quantitative methode. So, Can you explain more which one be the first to do ??? Qualitative or quantitave ?? Or directly mix them ?? Thank u
well, thanks for the question Ms.Hartina, in mixed method there is no option which one to be the first method to do. but we mix it. I'll give an example when we mix the data of interviewing (Qualitative) with the data of observing (Quantitative) and it aids the validity.
Thanks sist. That's a good explanation. I got the point about it. So, can we use this method for all the research or only some research ?? And also can you give an exmple how this method is used in research ?
as we know that there's only two kind of data "quantitative and qualitative" and research is about collecting the data. so, we can use this method for all research. it means, we can use this for collecting quantitative and qualitative data. and about your second question I have answer it the example of using this method in devi's comment and nurul azizah's comment.thanks
Well, that is really good answer. As we and i know that originality is a original research which there is no plagirism elements and talk about the characteristic of originality. Based on the first group answer that they explain it, I got some point that i am still confused and need more explanation about the number 7 and 15. Where in number 7 (what kind of empirical work) and in number 15 (what is the meaning of cross-disciplinary perspectives)?. And then, talk about the mixed method. Is this method can use in many research and also can help us to make it easier when we did the research ?
Okeh well.i will try to answer this question but just empirical research first. Empirical Research can be defined as "research based on experimentation or observation (evidence)". Such research is conducted to test a hypothesis. The word empirical means information gained by experience, observation, or experiment. The central theme in scientific method is that all evidence must be empirical which means it is based on evidence. In scientific method the word "empirical" refers to the use of working hypothesis that can be tested using observation and experiment. Empirical data is produced by experiment and observation.
Very nice question kookies. well, i'll try to answer. first, the empirical work in that poin is the research that we want to do. you must make sure that nobody has ever done it before. about the other, please wait!
addition, about cross-disciplinary perspectives,i am not sure but in my understanding, it is a kind of approach used in the research. as has been described at number 15, one of the characteristic of originality is to take or use a different approach than has been used previously. then, about mixed method, can we use this method in many research? yeah. In general, mixed method research can be used for any kind of research because the true goal of this method is to collect data and complete information, valid, reliable and objective. Specifically, this method is used if: Researchers want to supplement the results of quantitative research which is enriched with data that are qualitative in nature that can not be extracted with quantitative methods; researchers want to qualitative research results can be applied to a wider population; the researchers want to get more comprehensive data; researchers want to do action research; the researchers want to conduct research which is the process by researching methods of qualitative and quantitative products.
Wow. It’s really good answering and I understand enough the answer. so that, empirical work means that empirical research that based on experimentation or observation (evidence) such research is conducted to test a hypothesis. And about the cross-disciplinary perspectives actually I’m still not understand, I want to know what kind of cross-disciplinary in research? I’ve tried to find in some articles about the meaning but that is make me more confused. Hehe, so that way I need explanation from the first group cause I believe that the member of first group can make me more understand than the internet. And the next about the mixed method, thank you so much for good answering and I really satisfied. But can I ask again the simple question ‘bout mixed method that is it can appear in student of college cause I’ve read one of article said that the mixed method is really require a long time??
of course, you may ask us about the thing that you haven't understood yet. but may be you can make it clearer about your mixing method's question? I still didn't get the point. thanks
well, about your cross-disciplinary research based on article According to Rafols and Meyer (2007: 633), ‘we use the term cross-disciplinary to denote all forms of research that cut across disciplinary borders in some way. research itself aims for methodological rigour, exactness, and control of errors, which many researchers think is only possible in the circumscribed area of a discipline and some researcher said that it is complicated and rarely to do. for more information you can ask about it next time because the material is not belonging to our group's discussion it is just put as an example of the criteria of originality. thanks
Thanks for your nice explanation. But, I'm a little bit confused about the answer from number two point c. You said that Mixed method research is "practically" because researchers have the flexibility to use which one of methods to examine the problem. The question is can you giving more explanation about that. Maybe you can give an example or anything at all that make me more understanding about that. Thanks, I think that's all.
thanks for the question ms.dila it called practical bacause in mixed method is not limited for choosing the method (quantitative or qualitative) to examine the problem. for example the research about "increasing writing skill by using mind mapping" here, we can collecting the data by seeing the scoring (quantitative) or interviewing the teacher (qualitative) that the simple example.
Name: Nur Devitasyari ID: 20400114040 Class: PBI.2 Thanks for your good explanation but I'm little bit not understand about the mix method. Is the mixed method combination of qualitative and quantitative or there is another method that is mixed and it is called mixed method? My second question is could you give me the most specific overview about the comparison between mixed method and quantitative or qualitative method especially in terms of their research results. Thanks, I hope you get the points of my question.
and about Ms.Devy's question, Mixed method created to overcame the weaknesses in qualitative and quantitative method and to give better understanding than using only one method. so, of course mixed method only for mixing Qualitative and Quantitative. And about your second question the specific comparison, if mixed method flexible to use method and instrument, it is okay when it use qualitative method and use quantitative instrument or the opposite. But in qualitative or quantitative research has limited action it only can use its instrument or method for collecting the data/information.
Thanks for your good replay. So if mixed method created to overcome the weakness of qualitative and quantitative and it is also give a better understanding, why qualitative and quantitative method are not removed because there has been a "mixed method " that could be said more effective? And about the specific comparison, you said that qualitative and quantitative research has limited action it only can use its instrument or method for collecting information, is it mean research results by using "mixed method " which is flexible to use instruments more believed than qualitative or quantitative results which is only can use it's instrument? Thanks 😁
do you know that this is a chooses for the researcher. which one from them that they want to use. so, why the other research must be deleted if some people still comfortable to use it. the analogy seems like our old favorite clothes we still didn't throw it although we have a better clothes. why? because it still useful. but if we want to choose we choose the better one. just like this chosen. we choose the better research method one. because that's better than the other. but it still a choices for the researcher which one the comfortable method that they want to use. and about your second question. the believed result or maybe you mean the validity of the result not depend on the method that we use but it is depend on what theory that we use, is our data consistent, and so on. it is cannot depend on the method. although we use mixed method but we manipulated the data it is not believable and so do the quantitative or qualitative. but in mixed method makes us easier to collecting data because it's not limited like quantitative or qualitative that only can use their own instrument.
Ok well, what a nice explanation. So I'm goin to ask you that could you guarantee if you are mixing the method of qualitative and quantitative for your research, it would be better? I mean, do you have some opinion from the expert to make you opinion to be strong?
Nah.if we talk about guarantee we do not know cause we do not have any experience about researc...but if we see some article about that,we can conclude that this method is a good method that we use to do research.because there are many researcher used this method..
well, the method is not guarantee that our research would be better or not. it is about the validity of the data but it makes us easier for collecting the data without the limitation instrument just like in quantitative and qualitative method. this explanation based on the book “Mixe Methods Research” that is written by John W. Creswell dan Vicki L. Plano Clark. just check it out to get more information to make you more believe on our statement. thanks
thanks for nice answers my beloved sisters and brother. but I still confuse about the second answer. as we know that quantitative is general and using data/accounting different with qualitative is not general, only for particular place and to describe about something. so, what will we do if we mix the different explaination between quantitative and qualitative? please give me more explaination. thanks
okay, I will give you an example about mix the quantitative and qualitative method. when we want to collecting the information about the relation between achievement and socioeconomic status" we can mix the instrument from qualitative and quantitative . we can get the data by the survey from school such as looking the student scoring (quantitative). and in the other hand we get the information by doing some interview from student family's motivation (qualitative). because we take the information from sample we can make it general such as in quantitative . there is no limitation again such as in qualitative because we mix both of them. that's why we said that it's better then another method.
Well buddies my next question is about originality and what originality means. I get point from the first group's explanation in number one " a new question " what does it mean ? I have found that many people or students that do research in their undergraduate program they takes questions from previous research in the same topic with them. Thank You
well, as we know every researcher want to have the original research and only a few of them can make an original research because it needs all something new. just like "a new question" when we want to make our research originally we need a new question that comes from our own ideas not from a previous research in the same topic just like some people did. when they did it it's not originality anymore because they didn't full fill the requirements of originality that makes a good research.
Is this method can use in many research and also can help us to make it easier when we did the research ?
well, ms. khalisa you can look the answer on your previous comment above. and about your last question I will answer it here. yes, you are right it helps us to do the research easier (check out my previous explanation in ms.devi's box comment) and this method also can use in many research just like my explanation before in ms.Hartina box comment you can also check it out. thanks kookie for the nice question^ ^
Name : Nur Asiska EED : 2 Nim : 20400114026 Thanks for an explanation guys,a good explanation. Now, i Will give you a question about if two research that examine the setting or the same subject, achieving the same findings?
well, ms. Asiska, i will answer belongs to my understanding about your question. if we want to find the same thing or the same result and we use a different method may be you mean two method in the same research, i think the findings will same because our purpose is same. because if it is not same our research is not reliability.
Thanks for your good explanation but I'm little bit confused about the mix method. Based on the articles that I have read, qualitative and quantitative research have a different technique in choosing the sample. In qualitative research the study’s research objectives and the characteristics of the study population (such as size and diversity) determine which and how many people to select. The sample size is typically small, and respondents are selected to fulfill a given quota. Choosing sample based on subjective consideration of researcher. On the other hand, Quantitative data collection methods are much more structured than Qualitative data collection methods. Sampling in quantitative research is based on statistics formulation. So the question is, how sample election in mix research? What techniqe that we can use?
well, a good question sister. if you ask about the technique in mixed method research.here, we combine the technique between quantitative and qualitative technique, that's why it called mixed method. some examples you may see in t ms.devi, ms.tut wury, and ms. nurul azizah comments column. thanks
well I get the point from ms. Tutwuri comment colums. So we can choose what kind of sample that we use, either that from qualitative sample characteristic or quantitative sample characteristic. The sample is only determined based on the subject matter that we will research. Is it so?
thanks for the first group thats the really good answer..
well.. for the first group your answer I want to know the different your answer number 11 and 15?? because I think there is the same answer between number 11 and 15. please give me the answer and make it simple
thanks for the question mimis, well. in number 11 means repeating the research to check or test our research is original or not (check ms.kasma comment), in number 15 in making a research to make it original we may use a different approach for example, cross-disciplinary perspective (you may check ms.khalisa comment for getting the information clearly).
well it's nice answers but let me ask some questions that I am still confused about. among all the characteristic of originality research could you tell me the special characteristic that more showing the originality for our research because based your answer you just told us about the criteria of originality research. thank you
i think you misunderstood, in our answer we clearly put the specific characteristic from "a to h" then we explain more about basic criteria.so, you may check our answer once again. thanks
Thank you Good answer from the first group but in the last paragparh in this statement " If examine the existence of these criteria, we must show that our research is original in some way". I don't get point in the statement or I don't understand well about that can you give me more explanation. Thank you
well, the statement means that if the whole of the basic criteria that have been mentioned before fulfilled your research, you can say that your research is original
Thanks for the first group, It's nice answer. But I'm little bit confused about the basic criteria of originality on poin number 2 and 11. Can you explain a little more about it?
Expand means elaborating on existing works. so, when you make a research do not just copying instantly but you may develop the existing work to make your research original. thanks
It's nice explanation from the first group who have tell us about the advantages from mixed method research. But now I have question that "is there a disadvatage from mixed method research?" Because i think it's better to us to know the advantage and disadvantage from the method of research before doing the research. Thankyou!
okay, actually my group have answered it in mr.ibnu comment column in several days ago. so, you may check it out for the explanation and I suggest you to look forward the whole explanation before asking a question. thanks

Hapuswell, ms. nurul adiyah about the shortage you may see in mr.ibnu comment column, my friend has explained it before, and in my opinion it it is not too much. the opposite we will get the hardness when we just use one method, because we are limited of instrument that we want to use. why it makes us easier. you may check on ms. devy's comment column. thanks
HapusThank you ms. Jamilah, but all the explanation I need from your group. I want to know your opinion about that method. And about mr. Ibnu and ms. Devi, they have their objectives view too.
HapusAnd as you say, you want to do research by mixed method to help you more.

Thank you for ur question Ibnu, we will answer it soon...

HapusTo ibnu's question
HapusThe use of mixed method research provides a number of advantages, namely:
Provides strengths that offset the weaknesses of both quantitative and qualitative research. For instance, quantitative research is weak in understanding the context or setting in which people behave, something that qualitative research makes up for. On the other hand, qualitative research is seen as deficient because of the potential for biased interpretations made by the researcher and the difficulty in generalizing findings to a large group. Quantitative research does not have these weaknesses. Thus, by using both types of research, the strengths of each approach can make up for the weaknesses of the other.
Provides a more complete and comprehensive understanding of the research problem than either quantitative or qualitative approaches alone.
Provides an approach for developing better, more context specific instruments. For instance, by using qualitative research it is possible to gather information about a certain topic or construct in order to develop an instrument with greater construct validity, i.e., that measures the construct that it intends to measure.

HapusWell thanks for your explanation, but in your last explanation says that "It may be unclear how to resolve discrepancies that arise in the interpretation of the findings." then i'm lil' bit confuse by word "unclear" that you mention..well, why we use method if its may be unclear or can't give us a valid data?. hope you guys give some clarification about this. thanks a lot
Hapuswell, Mr.Ibnu . in the sentence use a word "may be it's not must be" so the meaning of "unclear" . when the research is very complex it can be a problem for interpreting our findings because it may be unclear how to solve the discrepancies between the combining of qualitative and quantitative method.if you said that why we use this method if its may be unclear or can't give us a valid data? okay, you know we can use each method for getting a valid data but in our group's opinion this is a better research method not for getting a valid data but it is better because it make us easier to collect the data. validity is about the way when we collecting the data. although we use mixed method but we manipulated the data it is wrong and so another method.
HapusWell, thank you for your comment Ms Mila..so based on your group, every method that we use in research has possibility to get "unclear" data but its depends on how we got the data.. and the way to collect data easier is using mixed method because it is more flexible. well, I think I can go with that. thank you.

Thanks for te first group.

HapusThanks sist. That's a good explanation. I got the point about it. So, can we use this method for all the research or only some research ??
HapusAnd also can you give an exmple how this method is used in research ?
hello sist, about your question, you may see the answer in khalis box review. thank u
Hapusas we know that there's only two kind of data "quantitative and qualitative" and research is about collecting the data. so, we can use this method for all research. it means, we can use this for collecting quantitative and qualitative data. and about your second question I have answer it the example of using this method in devi's comment and nurul azizah's comment.thanks

BalasHapusGood question... Thank you for ur question Devi, please wait for the presenter to answer it...
HapusWell, that is really good answer.
BalasHapusAnd then, talk about the mixed method. Is this method can use in many research and also can help us to make it easier when we did the research ?
Thank You
Daebak question Khalis. Thank you too for ur participation, please wait for the presenter to answer it...
HapusOkeh well.i will try to answer this question but just empirical research first.
HapusEmpirical Research can be defined as "research based on experimentation or observation (evidence)".
Hapusaddition, about cross-disciplinary perspectives,i am not sure but in my understanding, it is a kind of approach used in the research. as has been described at number 15, one of the characteristic of originality is to take or use a different approach than has been used previously. then, about mixed method, can we use this method in many research?
HapusHas it answered you question sista ?
HapusWow.
HapusThank’s for advance
thank you so much for the answering but I've little bit question again. it's ok ?
Hapusof course, you may ask us about the thing that you haven't understood yet. but may be you can make it clearer about your mixing method's question? I still didn't get the point. thanks
Hapuswell, about your cross-disciplinary research based on article According to Rafols and Meyer (2007: 633), ‘we use the term cross-disciplinary to denote all forms of research that cut across disciplinary borders in some way. research itself aims for methodological rigour, exactness, and control of errors, which many researchers think is only possible in the circumscribed area of a discipline and some researcher said that it is complicated and rarely to do. for more information you can ask about it next time because the material is not belonging to our group's discussion it is just put as an example of the criteria of originality. thanks
HapusThanks for your nice explanation. But, I'm a little bit confused about the answer from number two point c. You said that Mixed method research is "practically" because researchers have the flexibility to use which one of methods to examine the problem. The question is can you giving more explanation about that. Maybe you can give an example or anything at all that make me more understanding about that.
BalasHapusThanks, I think that's all.
Okay Dila, we get your point. Our group are discussing it. Please look forward for the answer...
Hapusthanks for the question ms.dila it called practical bacause in mixed method is not limited for choosing the method (quantitative or qualitative) to examine the problem. for example the research about "increasing writing skill by using mind mapping" here, we can collecting the data by seeing the scoring (quantitative) or interviewing the teacher (qualitative) that the simple example.
HapusHas it answered your question ms Dil A ?

Thanks for your good explanation but I'm little bit not understand about the mix method.
BalasHapusThanks for your good replay. Thanks 😁
Hapusdo you know that this is a chooses for the researcher. which one from them that they want to use. so, why the other research must be deleted if some people still comfortable to use it. the analogy seems like our old favorite clothes we still didn't throw it although we have a better clothes. why? because it still useful. but if we want to choose we choose the better one. just like this chosen. we choose the better research method one. because that's better than the other. but it still a choices for the researcher which one the comfortable method that they want to use.
Hapusand about your second question. the believed result or maybe you mean the validity of the result not depend on the method that we use but it is depend on what theory that we use, is our data consistent, and so on. it is cannot depend on the method. although we use mixed method but we manipulated the data it is not believable and so do the quantitative or qualitative. but in mixed method makes us easier to collecting data because it's not limited like quantitative or qualitative that only can use their own instrument.
Thanks for your nice reply. It is enough information to make me understand about the exactly answer of my question. Thanks 😉
HapusThanks for your nice reply. It is enough information to make me understand about the exactly answer of my question. Thanks 😉
HapusOk well, what a nice explanation. So I'm goin to ask you that could you guarantee if you are mixing the method of qualitative and quantitative for your research, it would be better? I mean, do you have some opinion from the expert to make you opinion to be strong?

Thanks for your question
HapusNah.if we talk about guarantee we do not know cause we do not have any experience about researc...but if we see some article about that,we can conclude that this method is a good method that we use to do research.because there are many researcher used this method..
well, the method is not guarantee that our research would be better or not. it is about the validity of the data but it makes us easier for collecting the data without the limitation instrument just like in quantitative and qualitative method. this explanation based on the book “Mixe Methods Research” that is written by John W. Creswell dan Vicki L. Plano Clark. just check it out to get more information to make you more believe on our statement. thanks
HapusWow, finally I got it. Thank you for the nice explanation both. Gracias
Hapusthanks for nice answers my beloved sisters and brother. but I still confuse about the second answer. as we know that quantitative is general and using data/accounting different with qualitative is not general, only for particular place and to describe about something. so, what will we do if we mix the different explaination between quantitative and qualitative? please give me more explaination. thanks
BalasHapusokay, I will give you an example about mix the quantitative and qualitative method. when we want to collecting the information about the relation between achievement and socioeconomic status" we can mix the instrument from qualitative and quantitative . we can get the data by the survey from school such as looking the student scoring (quantitative). and in the other hand we get the information by doing some interview from student family's motivation (qualitative). because we take the information from sample we can make it general such as in quantitative . there is no limitation again such as in qualitative because we mix both of them. that's why we said that it's better then another method.
HapusWell buddies my next question is about originality and what originality means. I get point from the first group's explanation in number one " a new question " what does it mean ? I have found that many people or students that do research in their undergraduate program they takes questions from previous research in the same topic with them. Thank You
BalasHapuswell, as we know every researcher want to have the original research and only a few of them can make an original research because it needs all something new. just like "a new question" when we want to make our research originally we need a new question that comes from our own ideas not from a previous research in the same topic just like some people did. when they did it it's not originality anymore because they didn't full fill the requirements of originality that makes a good research.
HapusReally good answer Buddy,. Thanks alot
HapusWell, that is really good answer. As we and i know that originality is a original research which there is no plagirism elements and talk about the characteristic of originality. What techniqe that we can use?
well, a good question sister. if you ask about the technique in mixed method research.here, we combine the technique between quantitative and qualitative technique, that's why it called mixed method. some examples you may see in t ms.devi, ms.tut wury, and ms. nurul azizah comments column. thanks
BalasHapuswell I get the point from ms. Tutwuri comment colums. So we can choose what kind of sample that we use, either that from qualitative sample characteristic or quantitative sample characteristic. The sample is only determined based on the subject matter that we will research. Is it so?
